One thing's for sure....no one really talked about sex toys or female masturbation before Sex and the City hit the small screen. This weekend, with the rain god playing havoc, nothing really appealed but to get into our 'girl bonding' groove and to celebrate it - popped a glass of wine and watched back to back episodes of Sex and the City. And that's when it hit us - Three whole episodes dedicated to Sex toys! Ofcourse, our bible, Cosmo talked about the Big O, but it was almost if you weren't having 10 orgasms a night there was something wrong.

And suddenly, wine and cheese forgotten, it was an animated discussion about sex toys! Oh...have you tried this...have you tried that...!!! The conversation moved from the Manolo Blahnik towering gorgeous thong clad women to sex toys - dildos, rabbit, vibrator....the list seemed endless!

It suprised me...here we were, talking about sex toys in the same vien as we would talk about the last shoe to hit the stand. And probably, a decade or so back, even if you did manage to have a handy collection of sex toys, it was relegated deep into your closet and you wouldn't dare to talk about it, lest people thought, 'Jeez, this woman has no life!'
